The Cord coalition continues to face turbulent times after another battle of ideology emerged between constituent Wiper and Ford Kenya parties.

The differences began over the weekend after Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka urged the coalition to hasten and name its flagbearer before Christmas 2016.

Musyoka also hit out at the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party for creating the impression that they (ODM) were ready to go it alone in the 2017 general elections.

However, the words were not taken well by the Ford Kenya leadership which seemed to play to the tune of ODM in support of delayed nominations.

In a Tuesday rejoinder, Ford Kenya Party leader Moses Wetang’ula dismissed Musyoka’s ultimatum, saying that there was nothing wrong with choosing the coalition’s flag bearer in the election year.

“We named (President Mwai) Kibaki as the Narc presidential candidate just about two months to the elections, and we still floored Kanu. Such a tsunami is coming in the form of Cord in 2017,” the Bungoma senator said as quoted by Nation.
