Nakuru County CeC for Education, Culture and Sports Prof. Catherine Kitetu has warned secondary schools Principals in the county against perpetrating corruption during the form one admissions process that is going on across the country.
The County Executive during an interview with this writer in her office on Tuesday noted that some Head-teachers and other school managers were fond of violating admission rules by either short changing students who had selected the schools or exercising over admissions for their self interests.
She warned that those who will be found perpetrating corruption will be disciplined in line with the county education policies, national education management and anti-corruption regulations.
“The government will not tolerate Principals and school managers who will attempt to corrupt the form one admission process. Let transparency prevail in the form one selection and admissions process to provide justice and equality to all,’’ said Kitetu.
She at the same time urged parents in the county to be on the lookout for corrupt school managers out to extort money from them in the form one admission process.
The CeC added that officials from his office will carry out an assessment in the county to establish the standard of form one admissions in the county to enable it formulate locally based school admissions policies.
