Over 90 percent of school buses in Uasin Gishu county has complied with the guidelines requiring that they are repainted yellow.

According to the county’s director of Education Dr. Nichodemus Anyang’, a few schools that have not complied have already taken their buses to the garage for repainting.

Speaking in Eldoret town on Monday, Dr. Anyang’ warned school management that has not have adhered to the guidelines that they will face the full force of the law.

The ministry of education had directed that all school buses be painted yellow by 31st of March.

“I want to confirm that over 90 percent of the school buses in this county have been painted yellow as per the directive and a few that are yet to do so, the buses are in garages being worked on,” said the County director of Education.

“I want to urge head teachers and principals who are yet to comply with the guidelines to complete the painting so that they are not caught on the wrong side of the law by the police,” he added.
