Speaking in his office at the county headquarters on Wednesday, Health CeC, Mungai Kabii revealed that plans were at an advanced stage to have these facilities' theatres receive a major face lift.

By doing this, the CeC posits that the number of deaths during childbirth will reduce.

"This shows how committed we are as a government in ensuring quality and affordable healthcare to all county residents," he said.

Kabii revealed that the county was working with an international investor to ensure the three sub-counties have their hospitals fully equipped with modern and up-to-date equipment in their theatres.

He encouraged residents to make use of public hospitals without fear of finding outdated equipment.

"As much as our private counterparts are offering a reliable solution, we want Nakuru people to learn how to effectively make use of public facilities," the CeC said.

This comes barely three days after Nakuru Governor Kinuthia Mbugua unveiled a drug distribution programme aimed at equipping different health facilities.
