Nyamira County government averted the health crisis by agreeing to pay nurses their 4 months salaries.
The nurses resumed work on Wednesday after they boycotted job on Tuesday.
KNUN official Nyamira branch Richard Oruta said the County agreed to pay the nurses in two phases.
“We held talks and agreed that the county will pay the nurses in two phases. The first phase will be paid end of this month and the next phase in February,” he said.
Oruta noted that the nurses will continue serving the residents without any discrimination.
“No resident will be discriminated at public health facilities. What we needed from the County has been offered to us and we have no option other than to offer quality health services to the people,” said Oruta.
