Deputy president William Ruto has pledged Sh720 million to equip medical facilities in Kisii County.
Speaking in Masimba Sub County in a fundraising function on Sunday, which brought together over 150 Adventist churches, Ruto said that the Jubilee government is committed to improve health centres in all counties, Kisii being among them.
“We will allocate Sh720 million to buy equipment for Kisii level 6 so as to avoid patients being referred to Eldoret or Nairobi,” Ruto promised as he warned opposition leaders, whom he claimed are out to sabotage the JAP government, telling them to wait until 2017 to express their issues to Kenyans.
He also added that Sh300 million will be set aside for upgrading Gucha hospital in buying medical tools, and further the fund will see that facility being upgraded to level 4 status.
The Kisii leaders who were present, led by county governor James Ongwae applauded the deputy president and their government for the support, as the governor promised to work with the central government in fighting insecurity, which has rocked the country in recent months.
Other leaders in attendance were Kabando wa Kabando (Mukuweini); Steve Manoti (Bobasi) Jimmy Nuru (Kitutu Chache North) among other leader from the Kisii county.
