The county executive officer in charge of Health Services Gladys Momanyi said the county had absorbed 112 medical officers that were hired under the Economic Stimulus Programme and another 238 on permanent aside from the 150 who have been employed under Afya Plus.

"Let's not be misled, we have employed almost 350 medical officers on permanent basis, and we are still planning for more," Momanyi told this writer on Wednesday.

Last week, Governor John Nyagarama said the county will employ all the casual workers who have the credentials and if they won't meet the qualifications, they will be deployed to other departments where they fit to serve the public.

"We are ensuring that we give priority to those who have served us for a long time and that is what we have been doing while employing on permanent basis and for those that don't meet the qualifications, we shall give them alternative duties," said the county boss.

He made the re,arks while flagging off the new health workers who were employed by the county recently.
