Each sub-county in Kisii County will now get one ambulance after the governor launches 10 ambulances.

Speaking on Wednesday during the flagging of 10 new ambulances at Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital, Kisii Governor James Ongwae said that they added the ambulances so that each sub-county can have one for health services.

“We now have 10 ambulances meaning each sub-county will be served by an ambulance, we now believe that our residents can receive quick and reliable service," said Ongwae.

In addition, he added that they are devoted to making sure that the health sector is improved now and then so that residents can receive better services.

“We are always devoted to the health sector to make sure that all mechanisms needed in the sector are in place, we have already installed some machines at Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital as one way of improving the sector,” added Ongwae.

He added that they have finalised measures of building a Cancer center in Kisii which will boost the health sector in the region.

“The measures of having a Cancer centre has been finalised and we are looking to break the grounds for the constructions to commence which is will take place this year,” said Ongwae.
