Machakos health services reforms advisory task force Tuesday briefed governor Mutua of the progress they have made so far.

The taskforce was formed on October 4, 2016, with objectives such as to put in place a system that ensures provision of quality, efficient and caring health services in Machakos, to enable the setting of international standards in terms of health services, cleanliness, physical quality of health facilities and procedures, to make Machakos county the leading health provider in Kenya and the region.

The task force was to achieve this by studying the current structures of Health Provision in the county, other structures of efficient health provision in Kenya and the world and recommend short and long-term reform measures in health care management and services in the county. 

The taskforce was chaired by Peter Mutie and includes Health county executive, nurses and doctor's representatives, Maendeleo ya Wanawake chair among other members. 

The team recommended some of the short-term measures and they are now proceeding with works and will in due time present the long-term measures that will make the county the leading health provider in the country.
