The workers led by Mr Alex Ogora accused the county government for failing to pay the allowances even after they had made agreement with the Salary and Renumeration Commission (SRC).

Mr Ogora said the workers were being ignored because they did not have a union to defend them.

"We workers have been  ignored and the County Government goes on paying us peanuts. We demand that Governor James Ongwae intervenes and help us," he said.

Mr Oigara said they were going through hard times as they have never received their allowances of over 4 months.

He was speaking on Thursday evening in Kisii town.
