Veteran politician Raila Odinga has hailed deceased strategist Oeri Tumbo as a 'patriot and panafricanist' in his condolence message.
The former principal in the University of Nairobi, Chiromo Campus succumbed to heart attack on Wednesday morning according to his nephew Richard Onyonka.
Through his spokesman Dennis Onyango, the ODM leader also termed the death as a 'tragic' loss to the country.
"The party leader has received the shocking news of Tumbo's death and he is heartbroken with the turnout of events," he noted in ODM WhasApp group.
He added: "His loss s a blow to agitation for good governance and democracy in the country. We shall continue fighting in his honour."
Besides appearing in KNT News as a panelist, Tumbo was one of respected think tanks in Raila's NASA coalition.
At his Gusii backyard, leaders led by Governor James Ongwae also joined the family in mourning Tumbo, who was also a regular public intellectual across the country.
