Residents of Kiamaina in Bahati constituency can heave a sigh of relief after area MP Kimani Ngunjiri promised to rebuild Wanguku road, in upper Kiamaina damaged by rain water.

Ngunjiri toured the area on Sunday and promised to have the road rebuilt by the constituency’s development office in spite of the fact roads is a county government function.

He said that without proper road network, many economic undertakings would be affected.

“This road has been damaged by heavy rains currently pounding the area and although it is a county government function, we will help rebuild it through CDF,” said Ngunjiri.

Several roads within the county have been damaged and Nakuru County government has pledged to rebuild them using el-nino mitigation funds.

Last week, Governor Kinuthia Mbugua promised residents of Elementaita in Gilgil constituency to have roads withing the sub-county repaired since they have been damaged by heavy rains currently pounding the area.
