Four children on Monday perished in Mombasa, after a wall came down on them as a result of heavy downpour.
Rescue workers combed through the debris, moments after the incident, keen to help those who had been trapped after the old walls came tumbling down.
However, it was already too late for four children said to have been playing near the wall, who lost their lives at the scene, and their bodies were retrieved.
The rains continue to cause havoc in most areas, with an electricity pole falling on a car near the Ronald Ngala road.
Officials are now warning locals of other disaster potential areas.
“There are areas that might face certain landslides. Areas in Kalahari, Mburukenge, Aldina, Bangladesh might be dangerous,” said one of the Mombasa CeC.
In Kilifi County, locals travelling along the busy Mombasa-Malindi highway were forced to wait for more than five hours for water flowing of the Mbogolo Bridge to subside.
A section of the installation at the bridge was washed away leaving huge cracks on the bridge.
In a statement to newsrooms on Monday evening, motorists have been urged not to use areas that have been heavily affected by water.
Flashfloods were also experienced in parts of Taita Taveta County, following the heavy rains, even as the weatherman predicts heavy rains for a longer period at the Coast region.
