The Kenya Meteorological Service (KMS) has warned of heavy rainfall in Garissa County as from March 1 to March 5, 2018
In a statement posted by the weather man, the forecast indicates that between 27th February, to 5th March, there shall be heavy rainfall on Wednesday, Thursday and on Friday.
“For the next seven days (27th February - 5th March), rainfall will be experienced in most parts of the country," KMS said in a tweet.
“In North eastern counties of Marsabit, Mandera, Wajir, Garissa and Isiolo, The rainfall is expected to be heavy on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday," the weather man added.
The Kenya Meteorological Service has also warned of thunderstorms in the region during th short heavy rainfalls
“North eastern counties of Marsabit, Mandera, Wajir, Garissa and Isiolo, are expected to experience sunny intervals on Thursday morning: rains over few places on Wednesday, Sunday, and Monday. And rains over several places on the remaining days. Afternoon showers and thunderstorms are expected over few places on Thursday, Wednesday, Sundays and Monday," the department explained.
KMS has asked residents especially those in urban areas to be on the watch out for flash floods.
The department also asked Kenyans to keep monitoring its forecast to get updates on the same.
