Kenya Meteorological Service  (KMS) has warned of heavy rainfall in Kisii County as from March 1, 2018.

In a statement posted by the weather man, there shall be heavy rainfall of over 50mm on Thursday alone in Kisii.

KMS has asked residents especially those in urban areas to be on the watch out for flash floods. 

The department also asked Kenyans to keep monitoring its focus because this year the rains will be different compared to padt years.

“For the next seven days (27th February - 5th March), rainfall will be experienced in most parts of the country," it said in a tweet.

Other counties that will be affected include:

Bomet County, Nakuru County, Kwale County, Kakamega County, Kericho County, Kwale County, Migori County, Turkana County, Samburu County, Muranga County, Nyeri County, Nairobi County, Kitui County, Makueni County, Taita taveta County, Marsabit County, and Narok County
