Motorists and residents using Gesonso – Igonga – Mogumo have decried heavy rains which have rendered the road impassable.
The road which is currently under construction is slippery and muddy something that has made several motorbike riders stuck in the mud.
Boda boda riders blamed the contractor for delaying the completion of the road.
"Transport along the road has proved futile. The Chinese contractor working on the road has taken several months working on the road," said Johannes Bironga a local.
Kirera Onwong’a who owns a shop at Daraja Mbili market said he is unable to access his shop due to heavy rains.
"For the last four days, I have not been able to open the shop because of the heavy rains that have rendered the road impassable. As we talk am counting losses," said Kirera.
The residents urged the contractor to speed up and finish constructing the road to ease transportation in the area.
