Makongeni market have become inaccessible due to the ongoing rains in the area for the past two week.
The undersun market is in a mess due to the increased mud by both vehicles and businessmen in the market.
The traders in the Market are now crying to the county government and the local government to come in and help them build permanent structures that will help them evade rains and hot sun.
The market has several problems one being frequent fire outbreaks whose source remain a quagmire.
It has severally been torched by unknown persons burning down all the food in the market and stalls.
These are cases that only a few or none can tell how they end.
Speaking to several business people in the market on Wednesday most expressed their agonies and what can be done to make the market grow.
"We are in a very poor state especially when it rains. We at least need a shelter in this market," Mary Nyokabi a business lady said.
"Waititu promised us change in the market and that is the reason we all closed the market to vote for him on that very day.We hope that he will not let us down,"Charles Nyamai said.
Another business lady complained on garbage that is at the entrance of the market making the place inhabitable.
"Why don't they first organise on the way that garbage will get out of this place. The foul smell makes this place inhabitable,"Mirriam Nduku lamented.
There did not lack a positive compliment thanking the area MP Wainaina wa Jungle for fixing a street light in the market that was faulty for long.
"We thank our MP for fixing that 'mulika mwizi' for us, now we can as well work at night," said James Nguata.
