Close to 500 heavily armed police officers have been deployed at Deputy President William Ruto's Sugoi home in Turbo, Uasin Gishu County, as he returns to vote.Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) boss Ndegwa Muhoro, told The Star, officers from GSU wil conduct road patrols across the village, to detect any suspicious incidents.This follows recent attack at Ruto's Sugoi home, last month, where an attacker armed with machete entered the home, inuring some officers. Police said he was later killed after 18 hours.Ruto's home County is seen as one of the determiners, to President Uhuru Kenyatta's re-election, since Ruto enjoys massive support from the region.His current MP is Elisha Busienei, who lost a Jubilee ticket, to defend the seat. Kevin Okwara beat him, and he is facing competition, from independent candidate Janet Rotich.
