Naivasha’s Hells Gate MCA Jonathan Warothe wants the Nakuru government to install security lights in the ward.
The MCA, who spoke to the press at Naivasha town on Sunday, asked Governor Kinuthia Mbugua’s government to install street lights in order to prevent crime
He noted that instances of crime are being reported in some parts of the ward stating that installation of lights will keep criminals off.
“Installation of security lights and probably CCTV cameras will help in reducing criminal activities and also encourage residents to conduct their businesses at night,” said the MCA.
He noted that most business owners in the Ward close their shops by 5pm for fear of being robbed or attacked.
Warothe observed that street lights that had been installed earlier by the municipal council stopped working a long time ago.
On the same note, Warothe urged the county government to improve on the drainage system.
He said that the drainage system is in poor state owing to the heavy rains that have been pounding in the area.
The MCA added that poor drainage system has inconvenienced residents whose houses get flooded every time it rains.
