Njoro Member of Parliament Joseph Kiuna wants the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) to move with speed and put bumps and road warning signs along the Molo-Mau-Narok road following the killing of eight people by speeding cars in a span of one month.

Speaking at Bondeni Estate, Kiuna said that area residents were tired of holding protests against speeding drivers along the road and called on NTSA to help them.

He said that the road is too narrow and does not have warning signs and bump, something he said has contributed to the endless accidents along the road.

“This road has become risky because it is so small and even those going on foot have no place to walk. We are appealing to NTSA to come to our rescue because we are tired of holding daily funerals as a result of road accidents which can be avoided. We need foot paths and foot bridges as well bumps and warning signs to control over-speeding drivers,” said Kiuna.

He added that loosing eight people in one month at the same spot is not something that should be taken lightly and called NTSA chairman Lee Kinyanjui who comes from Nakuru to hear the outcry and provide a solution.

Earlier in the week, two people were killed after a lorry run over them at Bondeni Estate in Njoro something that prompted protests from area residents who accused the police of failing to deal with rogue motorists along the busy road.
