It is only through a mutual relationship between players in the public and private sectors that education standards in the county will improve, Nakuru Governor Kinuthia Mbugua has said.

According to the governor, the private sector's contribution to the economy can never be undermined arguing that the sector has proved a significant factor in offering support where the government has limited funds.

"Private developers have over the years helped in providing available, quality and substitute services ensuring that we as a government achieve our minimum goals with the limited resources that are always at our disposal," he said.

He applauded different non-governmental organisations and selected individual efforts that have transformed the county to the better in matters to do with education.

"I am aware of different projects on going at the local level which are worth recommendations. That's the spirit," the governor noted.

Among the said NGOs are Build Africa International, German Development Bank, Book aid International, World Vision, Child Fund Kenya, Walden University International.

The governor was speaking at the county headquarters on Friday during the unveiling of an education task force mandated to steer reforms in the sector across the larger county.
