Kiamaina residents have called on Bahati MP Kimani Ngunjiri to help renovate roads in the area which are in a very bad state.
Led by area chief Peter Kariuki, the residents called on immediate intervention on the current state of roads saying a majority might be rendered totally impassable with the onset of El Nino rains.
They specifically took issue with the road leading to the Maili Sita shopping centre which they said has really affected transport.
“Good road network are key in ensuring people easily move in supplying food and accessing other facilities. Our area has been totally left out in matters of good roads,” he said.
The chief noted that the residents were prone to diseases as a result of the stagnant water that have since created very ugly scenes.
“Our children play with the dirty water which also offers a breeding ground to mosquitoes. Let the relevant officials hear our cry for help,” chief Kariuki said.
Bodaboda and car owners decried continuous damages saying the road has forced many out of business due to little capital that can supplement the continuous tear and wear.
“You cannot carry anything heavy because the big potholes cause a lot of breakages which a majority of us cannot constantly repair,” offered Charles Mwangi, chairperson Kiamaina Bodaboda Association.
They have now asked their MP to help before things deteriorate even further.
