Nancy Nekesa, a casual labourer, says her daughter Ruth Mukami went missing during last year’s Boxing Day and their attempt to find her has borne no fruit.

“The child had just woken up from sleep and was playing outside the house with other kids. I did not see the woman who is said to have left with Mukami,” Nekesa told journalists at her home on Thursday.

It is alleged that the woman came to the plot pretending to be a neighbour and offered Mukami an orange before leaving with her.

Mukami’s elder sister Shirleen Wanjiru says that the woman sent her to the shop to buy airtime but on return she did not find either Mukami or the woman.

Nekesa is now left with the sweater the girl was wearing that day to remind her of her little angel.

She is appealing to anyone who may have information on Mukami’s whereabouts to report to the nearest police station.
