Herders leaving their livestock to walk freely in Kisii town have been asked to take away the animals and keep off grazing the animals near the roads.
Kisii county deputy commissioner Peter Mbugi on Friday said several accidents involving livestock has been reported in the county.
“Anyone leaving the animals to walk on the road used by motorists will be arrested. Herders must keep off roads and graze their animals at far areas from the road,” said Mbugi.
The commissioner asked Kisii County askaris to ensure there are no animals on the road especially at Daraja Mbili market.
“During Monday’s and Thursday’s Daraja Mbili market normally experiences traffic due to animals walking on the road without owners, such animals will be taken away if the owners won’t take them away from Monday next week,” he added.
