The latest fastest goal scored is that of the United States’ Clint Dempsey who scored with only 32 seconds gone from the clock in their Group G 2014 World Cup in Brazil against Ghana. However, as mentioned earlier, this was not the fastest goal in the World Cup history.

In all football competitions, Christian Benteke holds the record of scoring the fastest goal ever in all football competitions. He scored just after 8.1 seconds into their World Cup qualifier against Gibraltar. A match they won six (6) nil.
