Nakuru despite being a small town as compared to others like Nairobi and Mombasa has some of the most lively streets and roads. Here are a few:
Kenyatta Avenue
This is the biggest street in the town's Central Business District. With a big number of supermarkets and mega buildings based along it, it maintains its life at all times With the day being characterized by a big flow of traffic and shopping, the street never goes to sleep even at late hours of the night.
It also has a number of night clubs along like Maigos and 64 lounge making it even more bouncy as soon as the night falls with people, and especially the youth coming out to enjoy themselves. It joins the Nakuru-Eldoret highway and the heart of the town.
Kanu Street
The street is very popular for many reasons but mostly characterized by prostitutes and its big number of 'brothels'.The street too boasts of a number of night clubs including Heliport and Eclipse and few hundreds of pubs and hotels and is always alive at all times. Joints here have sensual names like Kisses club, Good Dick's Point among others.
Cutting through residential areas of Langalanga, Free Hold and Flamingo, it attracts a large number of people who would like to spend some time away from their homes without the fear of being knocked down by vehicles as it's the matter with towns.
Oginga Odinga Avenue
The second of the three avenues in the town with the third one being Maasai Avenue. Oginga Odinga too cuts trough the southern end of the C.B.D. Its also one of those areas where people never seem to sleep.
Connecting the Western end of the town and runs all the way east to join the Nairobi-Nakuru highway at Free-Area, it is aligned with several residential areas like Moi Flats, Naka and Free Area on the lower side and the town on the upper making it safer. The avenue also boasts of the Nakuru Central Police Station making security one of its characteristics.
Mburu Gichua Road
This is another major road in Nakuru town. It intersects with all the other avenues at different locations and is another one cutting through the heart of the town Joining the upper side of the town to the residential side to the southern end of the city. It derives its name from a former Nakuru Mayor. It, as well, is always up and running.
