Nakuru remains one of the best towns to live in.
However, it has its challenges too, the biggest being unbearable noise in some of its residential areas.
Here are some of the noisiest neighborhoods in Nakuru.
1. Ponda Mali
Located to the Southern end of the lakeside town, Ponda Mali also doubles up as a market, making it the first on the list of the noisiest hoods in the town.
Also bragging of a matatu terminus, vehicles whose operators do not shy from honking in an attempt to attract potential passengers' attention, Ponda Mali is not the place for you if you are the quiet type.
It also houses several video halls, another source of noise.
2. London
Unlike the real London, living in this estate can be a nightmare if you are not used to surviving in a noisy environment.
The residential area is located along the Nakuru-Kabarnet road, a route frequented by both PSV and private vehicles, with all the noise ending up in residents' ears.
Right opposite the estate is the Nakuru industrial district, another source of noise pollution as the heavy machines whirl and clank in obedience to their operators.
3. Free Area
Situated along the highway, on your way to Nairobi, Free Area is on the receiving end as heavy duty trucks and their smaller counterparts hit the road.
The area also has a good number of pubs and bars, most of which strive to entertain their customers by playing them some good music, sounds that leak out to join that from other joints, culminating into a nuisance.
That's Nax Vegas for you!
