President Uhuru Kenyatta will blame himself if he loses in the fresh elections. The head of state has numbers of beat National Super Alliance (NASA) Raila Amolo Odinga hands down but he needs to reconsider his political strategy ahead of the fresh elections.

First and foremost, Uhuru is surrounded by leaders who have been mentioned in mega scandals. As much as these leaders have not been proven guilty of committing offenses, they have left little to be desired about his leadership.

Secondly, the President has been cool until recently when he launched an attack on the Judiciary following the Supreme Court ruling. Chief Justice Maraga David is likely to cost Uhuru the seat. The attacks Uhuru made on the head of the judiciary have made him be perceived as non-tolerant.

It will take a lot of effort for Uhuru to convince the voters from the Kisii community that he is the best bet for the presidency as he seeks for support. In his recent rally in the region, Uhuru had to come clean over his relationship with the Maraga.

“I have no problem with Abagusii, I have a problem with the old man (Chief Justice David Maraga) and the decision delivered by his court,” he said.

Nonetheless, Uhuru still stands a better chance to win the seat compared to his greatest opponent, Raila Odinga come October.
