Details emerging show that powerful families in the country with deep political connections are the main beneficiaries of the massive looting.

A wealthy and connected family within Naivasha has already been summoned by detectives to record statements over millions which were wired to their bank accounts turning them into millionaires overnight.

The family, though well known, cannot be named due to legal issues.

Other suspects according to impeccable sources are the wife of a vocal MP from Kiambu and the uncle and nephew of a powerful politician in government.

"Another main suspect is a powerful Jubilee politician you know well," a source told this writer.

The source added: "Five companies have been identified as the biggest beneficiaries, and we suspect this money was being stolen after instructions by a chain of influential people to ensure it funds certain people in the 2017 poll."

It has already emerged that a main suspect of the scam who operates a shop in Naivasha town has already flew to Germany as the noose tightens.
