Below us the list of the tourist sites and their locations:

Mugumo gardens: 

The garden is located next to the AP camp, about 400 meters down the first turning to the left as one enters Thika town off Garissa Road. 

Mugumo gardens was named after the giant fig tree, which had a 15-foot diameter, where the ancient legendary seer (Mugo wa Kibiro) prophesied.

The Gardens represents one of the most terrifying experiences in the life of the colonial government. 

Chania falls:

The waterfall which is located in Thika provides a breathtaking and scenic attraction of the falls as well as the surrounding. Apart from its suitability as a birding site, Chania Falls sets up a great picnic, camping and retreat site.

Fourteen Falls: 

The scenic site which is spectacular 30-meter deep scenery, derived its name from 14 successive falls located on Athi River in Thika, Kiambu County about 70 Kilometers North East of Nairobi off Thika-Garissa Road turning. 

When visiting the falls, you can enjoy activities such as boat riding, fishing, photography, walking around the rocks at the base of the falls and Bird Watching.

Keraita Forest:

The forest is located in Lari District in Kiambu County. It forms part of the Aberdare Forest Reserve. This is a very serene and pristine area and is a designated birding site. 

5Thika World War Memorial Park:

The park is along General Kago road. It is the final resting place of the souls of gallant African soldiers.

Mama Ngina gardens:

These gardens are found along Mama Ngina Drive. They boast of walkways and public lawns for leisure walks and picnics. 

Kilimambogo: 

Kilimambogo lies near the Fourteen Falls, it is a Swahili word for the Mountain of the Buffalo and home to the late Great philanthropist Sir Macmillan. Halfway up the hill, you will find the graves of Sir Macmillan, his wife, and their house help. It is on the foot of this hill that Macmillan entertained Theodore Roosevelt, former President of the United States, and Sir Winston Churchill, former Prime Minister of the United Kingdom.

The Gatamaiyu Riverine Walk: 

Gatamaiyu Riverine Walk is located in Gatamaiyu Forest. It is a true paradise and ideal destination for urban birding. Gatamaiyu is good for many Afro-tropical highland species. 

Gatamaiyu Camp and Fishing grounds: 

The grounds are situated in Gatamaiyu forest which is part of the Kereita forest. They consist of a camping site, fishing grounds, and the Gatamaiyu riverine walk. The grounds are maintained by the KWS.
