Kenyan politicians are comedians in their own sense. You might have heard an MCA, MP, Senator, Governor or even Presidential aspirant claiming that he or she would floored the opponent by 8 am, 9 am, 10.am, or 11 am on the elections day, which has never happened.
How do you win when votes are still being cast? Although propaganda is part of politics, some lies can be spotted right from the eyes of the politicians even before he or she leaves the podium.
I have never stolen even a shilling belonging to the public, some of them say. Any leader who has not done much with the money being given to him or her by the tax payers is a thief.
No Kenyan politician has ever admitted stealing public resources. Most of them blame their opponents when faced with cases of corruption. They call for prayer rallies when they know they are thieves. This is another lie that we continue haunting this nation. How do you claim you are clean when money is disappearing ?
As we draw closer to the August General elections, politicians are ready to promise Kenyans things that even their families members have never heard about. There are leaders who have pledged to construct several kilometers of roads, build several schools, bridges, install showers in homes and other facilities but after five years they will come back with excuses.
It is interesting to note that some of these politicians have been using the same lies repeatedly to win the hearts of the voters. Kenya has continued to lag behind in terms of development because of these lies. If a leader promised to construct a bridge and never did so within five years then he or she will not do so even if he is given several chances. We do not need degrees, masters and PHDs to see some lies.
