Another NASA governor has met Deputy President William Ruto, a day after his and Uhuru Kenyatta’s inauguration at Kasarani.
Trans Nzoia governor Patrick Khaemba, a Ford Kenya elected county boss met the DP at his Karen home amid growing fears that the Opposition’s future was at stake as Jubilee leadership reportedly aims at considering a section of NASA devotees in state appointments.
The meeting comes barely a day after Turkana governor Josphat Nanok (ODM) attended the inauguration of President Kenyatta and his deputy at Kasarani against the widely stated NASA ideal of having leaders elected on its affiliate parties and supporters disregard the current Jubilee regime which they claim is illegitimate.
DP Ruto gave a brief of their unexpected meeting explaining that they engaged thoughts on issuance of title deeds, relocation of State facilities and improvement of health infrastructure.
He said; “Held talks with Trans Nzoia Governor Patrick Khaemba on issuance of title deeds to residents, relocating Government facilities to allow expansion of Kitale town and improving of health infrastructure.”
According to the DP, execution of their discussion points on Wednesday would ensure better service, attract investment and advance the local economy.
During the swearing in ceremony at Kasarani, the Jubilee duo Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto largely emphasized on reaching out to all leaders including those in the Opposition in their bid to reconcile the Kenyan communities.
This reconciliatory tone is informed by the apparent discontent among the citizenry after the recent three months political upheaval.
