After bagging the Cecafa senior challenge tourney last Sunday,Harambee Stars has now been challenged to focus on making it to the African Cup of Nations (Afcon) bonanza to be held in 2019.​

Deputy president William Ruto on Tuesday promised Stars that should they achieve the feat then he would give the team a cool Ksh 50million.The DP also promised the team a vrand new bus early in the year.The big news was tweeted by an elated Football Kenya Federation (FKF) president Nick Mwendwa who also revealed that president Uhuru Kenyatta had vowed to award Harambee Stars Ksh 10 million fir their Cecafa heroics.

Kenya are in a tough Group F that also has African giants Black Stars of Ghana,Sierra Leone and neighbours Ethiopia.

It remains to be seen whether the DP's grand promise will inspire the Paul Put charges to top the group or come second in a bid toake it tjo the continental tourney.

Stars had a false start to the qualifications after sufferinga shocking 1-2 loss to minnows Sierra Leone in Freetown in June.

Their next match will be against the Ghanians at home in September 2018 before and then a back to back fixture against Ethiopia.

Already Mwendwa has promised that the team will camp in Europe in March 2018 to train for the fixtures.
