A photo of Gideon Moi during the funeral of Baringo South MP Grace Kipchoim on Saturday sitting amongst ordinary citizens is causing quite a stir online.
A calm Gideon Moi follows the proceedings with what seems like a statement in his hand while sitting on a plastic chair.
The son of Former President Daniel Arap Moi was the centre of attention yesterday, days after he allegedly orchestrated the snub of William Ruto at Kabarak.
Kenyans on social media have been quick to comment on the photo.
Here are some of the comments:
When they denied him the seat in the high table, Executive area to humiliate him. The Wananchi who are the real voters gave him the front seat and he was very comfortable. Truly, truly this man is destined for greater things,'' wrote Stano Mastermind.
''A cheap political show. KANU destroyed Kenya and we will never allow him back,'' Fred Omondi commented.
''Desperation to follow anything or anyone opposed to dp or someone who shook hands with somebody.'' James Mwangi wrote.
''and for your information. He chose to sit with the mourners yet a seat was reserved for him at the high table. Hapana danganya raia,'' Nyauma Suso wrote.
''Front seat in a crowd? There is no such thing as a front seat when you are sitting on sambaza...'' Akiniyi Muganda wrote.
''This is a cheap publicity stunt. Si alikuwa amepewa kitu huko mbele,'' Muturi Keya posted.
''GM is a humble guy. He will be the next president after Uhuru Kenyatta. Wapende wasipende,'' Ouru Mumbwa commented.
Gideon Moi is widely expected to contest the 2022 presidential election, a prospect that has triggered great unease in DP Ruto's camp.
