Football Kenya Federation (FKF) will soon unveil new National soccer team, Harambee Stars head coach.
According to sources within FKF, the Federation has settled on former Netherlands International defender Rudolf Jozef Krol famously known as Ruud Krol.
“We have reached a deal with Krol and he will be unveiled in the first week of May,” a source within FKF told Goal.com.
He will replace Belgian Paul Put who recently resigned less than four months after being unveiled as Harambee Stars Coach, citing personal reasons. Put has since been appointed Guinea Coach.
Stanly Okumbi is the interim Harambee Stars Coach.
68-year-old Ruud Krol is a retired Dutch footballer who was capped 83 times for his country.
Most of his career he played for his hometown club Ajax, and he became a coach after retirement. Regarded as one of the best defenders of all time, Krol mainly played as a sweeper or left-back.
He could, however, play anywhere across the back line, or in midfield as a defensive midfielder, due to his range of passing with feet, temperament, tactical intelligence, and ability to start attacking plays after winning back the ball.
He has coached some of the best football Clubs in Africa, among them Zamalek in Egypt, Orlando Pirates in South Africa, and Club Africain and CS Sfaxien in Tunisia.
He has also previously coached Egypt National soccer team, the Pharaohs.
