Nyangwa High school in Mbeere South, Embu County has astonished many for taking an extra mile in managing security.
The school which has over 1,800 students has bought 5 German Shepherd dogs trained by a police unit.
Nyangwa school has also installed CCTV cameras to monitor student and visitors movement around the school.
As if that is not enough the school also boast of having security guards trained by Administration Police to help detect students planning riots.
Musyoka Moshe, the school Principal said the security measures were put in place three years ago to improve security. He also noted that students performance in the school has also improved given that they operate in a safe environment.
"The boys means score has improved from 6.2 points to 9.5 in the last 5 years because they are comfortable and relaxed given our secured environment which offers them a serene learning environment," said Moshe.
Moshe further urged other employers to motivate their guards for good service delivery.
The principal has encouraged other schools to desist from employing the elderly as guards and at the same time failing to motivate them.
