Athi River MCA Hon Michael Mutua has elaborated on his track record since he was elected four years ago.
While addressing the residents of Athi River during the Jamuhuri day celebrations, Mutua appealed to the people of Mavoko to vote him next year for the position of Mavoko member of parliament based on what he has done for the people of Athi River.
He went further to state that since he was elected MCA for Athi River town ward, he has fought for the tarmacking of roads within Athi River town.
He said he has championed for the erection of street lights in Athi River town in a bid to improve security in the industrialized town.
Amidst cheers and ululations from the crowd, Mutua went ahead to state that he has fought for the upgrading of Athi River health centre.
He also said he fought so hard to establish a water treatment plant, working hand in hand with Mavoko water ans sewerage company, Mavwasco.
There was an awkward moment of microphone hitch but that did not dampen his spirit to declare to the people of Mavoko what he has achieved as an MCA and what he will achieve if elected Mavoko Mp.
He also said he has managed to fight for the erection of market sheds and stage shelters. He also used the opportunity to remind his people of how he fought for the trade license fee not to be increased as was the plan.
He said he won and that it has enabled many entrepreneurs to start and operate businesses in Athi River. On waste management, he blamed Mavoko Mp Patrick Makau.
He said he just have an oversight role as an MCA and that waste management should be handled by MP. He concluded that if elected MP, he will deal with this menace once and for all.
