Reliable sources from the National Super Alliance (NASA) technical committee have revealed the initial proposal on the power-sharing deal between the principals in the union.

The opposition coalition aims to work in the framework of the current constitution and will seek not to suggest the creation of a position of Prime Minister with two deputies.

Among the positions that are up for grab apart from President and Deputy President, the leaders are yet to decide on who will become National Assembly and Senate Speaker, National and Senate majority leaders and who becomes Nairobi and Mombasa governor.

The technical committee already submitted their recommendations to the National Coordinating Committee on Monday evening.

“The main challenge is picking a presidential flagbearer but I am sure we will get to the August polls together and field one candidate,” Vihiga Senator George Khaniri told the Star on Tuesday.

Former national assembly Deputy Speaker Farah Maalim is also set for a senior position in the new structures of NASA as a safeguard to ensure the Muslims and marginalised communities are factored in.
