President Uhuru Kenyatta, will attend the funeral service of the late Nyeri governor Nderitu Gachagua Monday, March 6, 2017.

He will head to Nakuru County to preside over the Annual Devolution Conference in Nakuru, Tuesday.

State House spokesperson Manoah Esipisu said this is always an opportunity for the president to take stock and review progress, in implementing devolution.

The President will also visit Turkana, Lamu, Kilifi, Mombasa and Taita Taveta counties to commission completed projects and inspect ongoing ones, such as Witu-Lamu road, Baricho water project, and Sala Gate Road.

Uhuru will commission equipment at Malindi hospital, launch the Mariakani Bamba Road, inspect the Moi Airport – Changamwe Road, launch the Bura Mission road, lay the foundation stone of the National Mining Institute at the Taita Taveta University in Voi, commission the Gemstone cutting and value addition centre and address a rally in Mombasa.

‘’These activities will build up to the President’s State of the Nation address to a Joint Sitting of Parliament on March 15,’’ Esipisu told the press in Nyeri, Sunday.

The State of the Nation Address is an opportunity to review implementation of his development agenda for the year, and also to give an outlook of what he expects going forward.
