President Uhuru Kenyatta and NASA leader Raila Odinga have sent Merry Christmas and Happy New Year wishes to all Kenyans.

However, president Kenyatta’s message sounds like a reply to Raila’s emotional message to Kenyans.

The two leaders have talked about a child-baby Jesus. Mr. Odinga narrates the story of the cruel King Herod who tried to kill baby Jesus out of fear of being overthrown.

“When King Herod heard that another King had been born, he sent soldiers to hunt him down and kill him,” narrated Odinga.

On the other hand, President Uhuru reminds Kenyans of the importance of the birth of baby Jesus as the prove of God’s care for his people.

“Unto us a child is born. Isaiah’s words proclaim the extent of God’s continuing care for his people,” said president Uhuru adding that, “This is not the time to look back; this is the time to nurse the grudges of the past; this is the time to forgive, and look forward to the renewal that God promised in the birth of this child.”

As Raila was talking about King Herod’s intentions to kill the child by sending solders, Uhuru reminded Kenyans of the visitors who came to visit baby Jesus.

“We read that men came from different nations to celebrate the birth of the child; and we are taught that strangers sheltered the child and his mother,” confirmed the Head of State.

Secondly, the NASA leader claims that freedom and democracy are under threat citing lack of support from the western government.

“Freedom and democracy are under threat in every part of the world. Western government who supported our cause have abandoned democracy and now promote stability at whatever cost,” said Odinga.

However, President Kenyatta said that Kenya is a diverse democracy with persons from different faiths, tongues and beliefs call it home.
