The governors were on Monday given direct nomination certificated by their party leader.
Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho leaders the team of governors, including Wycliffe Oparanya of Kakamega, Evans Kidero (Nairobi), Josephat Nanok (Turkana), David Nkedianye (Kajiado) and James Ongwae (Kisii).

Other leaders in the campaign team are Homa Bay women rep Gladys Wanga and Nominated Senator Janet Ongera.
The ODM governors are expected to push for Raila’s fouth bid to occupy the House on the hill in their respective counties and regions.
They will be responsible for mobilising campaign resources such as money and key logistics.
On Monday, Raila handed over 800 certificates to ODM aspirants ahead of August General Election.

The National Super Alliance (NASA) in which Raila is a co-principal, is yet to name its presidential candidate.
Others in the opposition coalition seeking the ticket are Wiper’s Kalonzo Musyoka, Musalia Mudavadi (Amani National Congress) and Ford Kenya party leader Moses Wetangula.
ODM is hoping that their party leader Raila will clinch the NASA ticket.
“I assure Kenyans we have a better chance than ever of winning and I am confident we will,” Raila said on Monday.
