Subow, who is vying on Jubilee Party ticket says that her first assignment if elected will be to petition the president to allocate more funds to the social affirmative kitty.
Speaking in Garissa Town on Friday, Subow said that women and marginalized groups will benefit more if more funds are allocated to the kitty.
“I will petition the president to allocate more money to women projects through he social affirmative kitty,” she said.
Subow said that the Sh700 Million allocated to the kitty is not enough.
“If Members of Parliament (MPs) can be allocated a lot of money under Constituency Development Fund (CDF) then women must also be given equal share,” she said as quoted by the Standard.
Subow also pledged to push for the implementation of two-thirds gender rule especially at county government level.
She said that the two thirds gender rule is critical in pushing for equality in public appointments and resource allocation.
Subow appealed to women, youths and other marginalized groups to support her election saying that she has their interests at heart.
Subow is battling to unseat incumbent Shukran Gure who has exuded confidence of retaining the seat.
Gure says that she has the numbers and support to win re-election.
