He is known to speak against government various scandals open-mindedly regardless of his political stand.

This has raised concerns from Jubilee members of parliaments and supporters about his political stand terming him as a snitch and an opposition supporter.

During the construction of the Standard Gauge Railway, Alfred Keter came to the limelight after he accused Uhuru's government failing to curb corruption and misuse of office.

He was categorical on the SGR project contracted at Sh327 billion saying it was inflated threefold and the cash crunch bedeviling the country is attributed to such corrupt deals.

In 2015, Keter was one of the MPs demanding justice during the National Youths Service corrupt scandal against Anne Waiguru, terming the government as corrupt and selfish. Keter sided with the opposition to ensure Waiguru was held responsible for the scandal.

His continuous attacks on Uhuru's government saw him announce in 2016 that he had quit the party as there was "too much corruption".

Keter launched an attack on Uhuru and Deputy President William Ruto saying the country’s economy was collapsing because of corruption.

This even saw Keter warn that Jubilee would lose the 2017 presidential seat due to its poor governance in terms of corruption.

He poked Deputy President William Ruto who defended the government terming Keter as an attention seeker.

Speaking to Radio Maisha on Wednesday, political analyst Philip Chebunet said that Alfred Keter is an independent leader who speaks his mind for the favour of Kenyan.

Alfred Keter was arrested on February 16 and accused of forging Treasury bills worth Sh.633 million.
