The second-term county boss has proven beyond doubt that he is a force to reckon with. Joho stood with Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Raila Amolo Odinga at the time he needed him most. When Former Vice President Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka, Amani National Congress (ANC) leader Musalia Mudavadi and Ford Kenya Leader Moses Wetangula were looking for reasons to give NASA supporters for failing to attend Raila’s big day, Joho was at Uhuru Park with Baba.

First and foremost, running a presidential campaign needs money. Joho is among the wealthiest politicians in the nation. He also enjoys cordial relationships with other leaders in the nation as well as overseas. He has been making endless trips outside the country. Unlike other politicians who are likely to run short of funds, Joho is loaded.

Secondly, Joho is brave. It takes bravery to rise to the nation’s top seat. The governor has been known for launching endless attacks on President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William during their first time in office. His vocal nature made him a darling to many Kenyans who dream of a better Kenya.

Joho also enjoys the support of the youths. Both opposition and Jubilee youths love the charisma of the flamboyant county boss. A large number of the youths are likely to consider voting for him if he decides to contest for the nation’s top seat when that time comes.

Additionally, his close ties with the Raila could give him an upper hand. The former prime minister is known to be a kingmaker. If Raila endorses Joho, Ruto will be in trouble. Raila endorsed Former President Mwai Kibaki in 2002 and historians can easily tell you what they witnessed at that time.

Joho will give Ruto a hard time if he means what he says. The county boss enjoys massive support in the Coastal region and his candidature will not be easy for Ruto.
