A sombre mood has engulfed the Kalenjin community after a popular secular musician Weldon Cheruiyot of Keneny International alongside his five dancers perished in a road accident.Another upcoming musician, Nicho Embassy, was also in the ill-fated car.

The artists were heading to a Kalenjin function at Timboroa.

Cheruiyot popularly known as Keneny is one of the celebrated musicians in the community.

His fans are thrilled by his hit song "Ngwany Chomyeet ko ki nee wee".

Several leaders including Deputy President William Ruto, Joyce Laboso, Nakuru deputy governor among others have sent the condolences.
