After many speculations doubting the identity of a man in the 'Nairobi business community' photo, the man has come out to talk about his identity.

Charles Mwangi, who is an entrepreneur based in Kibra, has said he is a real person and that he does not belong to any unlawful gang or police squad as earlier rumored.

His photo generated an online buzz when another image of a policeman bearing an uncanny resemblance to him went online.

But according to the  Standard, which tracked down Mwangi to his shop in Kibra, the Mwangi runs a video show business in the slum.

He also does video shooting and editing.

“I was born here in Kibra, I went to Lang’ata Road Primary School and I have been a resident here for a long time. I have done many businesses, including being one of the first people to start repairing computers here,” Mwangi said.He denied ever being a policeman or having any relatives in the force.

“That guy is dark and I heard after all this talk started that he is from Embu or Kirinyaga,” he said.

His words complement those of Deputy Inspector General of Administration Police Samuel Arachi who said the uniformed man whose picture has been widely circulated on social media is a real and serving officer.
