It's barely four months to the general election and politicians in NASA and Jubilee are pulling together strategies to ensure they hold office for the next five years.

Jubilee leader President Uhuru Kenyatta has his eyes set to claim 10-15 per cent of votes, above what he got in 2013. Uhuru aims to gain this percentage from the perceived 13 battleground counties. In order to achieve this dream, Jubilee seeks to campaign based on it's development record which the party's vice chairman David Murathe claims it has been splendid."We can only do better and we can improve on 2013. The Jubilee record speaks for itself," said Murathe. For instance, Uhuru Kenyatta plans to commission and deliver development project in the battleground counties to win over opposition supporters. Road contractors are even working overtime to prove Uhuru's development projects.ODM Party leader Raila Odinga. The perceived battleground counties include Nairobi, Bungoma, Isiolo, Turkana, Kisii, Marsabit, Samburu, Trans Nzoia, Wajir, Kajiado, Nyamira, Narok, and Garissa. This combat counties boast of nearly five million votes with Jubilee seeking to net at least two-thirds of the same.Murathe and nominated Senator Beatrice Elachi who is bidding for the Dagortti North parliamentary seat have exuded confidence that Jubilee can win especially on the anxiety and speculation exhibited by NASA's delay to name their flagbearer.Murathe and Elachi believe this delay can play in favor of Jubilee in winning over some perceived NASA strongholds. Murathe also said going by the numbers of new voter listing, they expect to beat NASA by over 2.5 million votes, earlier in January DP William Ruto also stated that they (Jubilee) will win by four million votes, while Parliament majority leader Aden Duale predicted at least a margin of 3 million votes."We are confident that in Kisii we will get 50 percent, Bungoma over 60 percent and Marsabit over 70 percent," he said. The Jubilee reelection strategy involves 20 members at county and ward level managing logistics and mobilisation. These groups work closely with civil servants, county commissioners and their deputies, chiefs and their assistants. The quest to turn around NASA perceived strongholds to Jubilee turfs may also include propaganda just to achieve its quest.A team of young researchers and analysts operating from the Jubilee Pangani headquarters is also up to ensure the strategy works.Appointing  NASA politicians for government jobs and also luring former politicians and opinion makers in rallying behind a Jubilee win is also another part of the broader strategy. In 2013, Uhuru won a majority share of the votes in 21 counties while Raila pocketed 26 counties plus diaspora.
