It is sad to loose a parent at young age, but more painful to loose a parent during a defining moment in life. 

This the painful moment that Mugambi Mwenda, son to late Nyeri governor Wahome Gakuru had to go through while sitting for his KSCE exams. He was a student at Alliance High School.

The former governor's son did exemplary well in his exams despite the death of his father.

Mwenda who had only sat for two papers when the tragedy struck got a B+. He was also forced to cut his exams to go bury his father and go back to school to complete them.

According to the Standard, the Mugambi Mwenda had a Physics paper, a CRE paper and Science practicals to tackle after his father was buried.The late Governor had hosted Alliance High School's candidates a weekend before he died at his Runda residence.

Wahome Gakuru died after a grisly road accident along the Nairobi Nyeri Highway at Kabati, near Muranga.

President Uhuru was among the leaders who encouraged Mwenda Mugambi to face the exams with courage and remain strong as he wished him all the best.
