Among the artists lined up for the show are King Kaka (Rabbit),Jua Cali, Maima and award winning afro-fusion band Sauti Sol.

Here are some of the entertainment items that you should expect from the all-night event sponsored by Chrome:

1. Afro-fusion

Sauti Sol has taken its place as the best Band in not only Kenya but the entire Africa as well. The good thing about Sauti Sol’s stage performance which puts it way ahead of other musicians is the fact that it is a band. While on stage, they play live music. They do not sing along to their songs like most musicians do. It does not make sense to pay for a performance only for the artist to put his or her CD and sing along as if he or she is doing Karaoke. Those planning to attend the bash should expect a lot of afro-fusion genre of music. Sauti Sol has produced a lot of albums from Sol Filo Sofia to Manzo to live and Die in Africa just to mention a few. Most of their songs are about love. Their recent and most celebrated 'collabo' is the song titled, “Melanin”.

2. Spoken word

Another entertainment item to expect from the Chrome Mega Bash, Machakos edition, is a lot of spoken word. This is from the self-proclaimed King of Rap, Rabbit aka Kaka Sungura. King Kaka is a rapper who made it in the Kenyan music industry through his unique style of incorporating spoken word and poetry in his music. He won the hearts of many Kenyans who love “mistari” when he released his first album. He has since released a number of singles and a couple of collaborations. His latest hit is titled, “Mistarilionnaire.”

3. Kamba music

And here is the best part, the popular Kamba musician Maima is also set to perform during the event. It cannot get better than this for the lovers of Kamba Music. Maima has made a name by singing in the local dialect. His use of lewd language has earned him praise from his thousands of fans. If I were the master of ceremony of the event, I would schedule Maima to give the last performance. Kamba music is fast-paced and the dancing is very vigorous. They say Kamba dance is not for the faint hearted. So carry some drinking water with you because it will likely get hotter than you expect.
