Trump's victory has created a wave of excitement across Garissa County, with a section of politicians and their supporters claiming their victory will go the Trump way come 2017 elections.
For instance, a section of Ali Korane's supporters on Wednesday branded him Garissa's Trump in the forthcoming gubernatorial elections, claiming that he would win by a big margin to become the next county chief.
Politicians usually like associating with things that blind or rather convince the electorate to their camps. However, none of the Garissa politicians can compare with the US President-elect Donald Trump.
From the historical perspective, none of the North-Eastern politicians has been as consistent as the American politician. Theirs is just to move along with the political wave as long as it does to their benefit.
It is true that Trump spoke his heart from the time he expressed his bid to take over White House from Obama. He never uttered statements to please the electorate, but acted as he deemed fit and suitable for his manifesto.
And since none of the Dauale, Jama, Maalim or Korane personalities can match the American Trump, it is high time they get to learn some invaluable lessons and stop smearing the electorate with sweetened nothings.
It is more palatable for them to sound inconceivable rather than promising heaven that is no better than hell.
